Ravitej Uppu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Iowa. He was awarded an undergraduate degree at Chennai Mathematical Insitute in Physics. Subsequently, he carried out his doctoral research on random lasers at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, India on random lasers. He then moved to Europe for postdoctoral research, where his research focused on experimental quantum optics first at the Complex Photonic Systems (COPS) group at the University of Twente, Netherlands and then at the Center for Hybrid Quantum Networks (Hy-Q) at the Niels Bohr Institute, Denmark.
